Abstract
A new, fast and convenient method based on coupled thin-layer chromatography (TLC) and Fourier transform-infrared
(FT-IR) microscopy is developed to separate, detect and identify the additives in polymers. After the TLC development, the
analytes were transferred on to a barium fluoride (BaF
2
) salt plate via a special capillary technique and analysed by FT-IR
microscopy.

To see how well Chancellors Hotel operates, it is compared with another business and with Average Industry ratios. Moreover, report includes areas of good and bad practice. In conclusions are given recommendations on how to improve performance of the Hotel.

The Automatic Identification System (AIS) was originally developed to aid the Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) by use of a VHF transponder working on Digital Selective Call (DSC) at VHF CH70, and is still in use along the UK coastal areas and others. Some time later the IMO developed a Universal AIS using the new sophisticated technology called Self-Organized Time Division Multiple Access (SOTDMA) based on a VHF Data Link (VDL). The system operates in three modes – autonomous (continuous operation in all areas), assigned (data transmission interval remotely controlled by authority in traffic monitoring service) and polled (in response to interrogation from a ship or authority). It is synchronized with GPS time to avoid conflict among multiple users (IMO minimum 2000 reports per minute and IEC requires 4500 reports on two channels). The VHF channels 87B and 88B are commonly used and in addition there are local AIS frequencies. Shipborne AIS transponders exchange various data as specified by the IMO and ITU on either frequency automatically set up by the frequency management telecommand received by the DSC receiver on ship.

London Mayor Boris Johnson has urged people not to "sneer" at the coffee chain Starbucks over its decision to pay £20m in corporation tax.
The company, which has come under considerable criticism for paying nothing over the past three years, announced the move earlier this month.
Critics described this as a desperate attempt to improve publicity.
But Mr Johnson told the BBC, Starbucks was showing "corporate responsibility" and the issue was "difficult".
The company has paid £8.6m in corporation tax in its 14 years of trading in the UK and nothing in the last three years, despite UK sales of nearly £400m in 2011.

This “Riddle of Ages” is situated on the Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, a county in south-western England.
