Мета праці – характеристика і опис структурно-семантичних особливостей ФО з колірним компонентом у зіставному аспекті, виявлення спільного і відмінного у даних ФО в англійській і українській фразеології.
Реалізація поставленої мети передбачає розв’язання таких завдань:
– уточнити місце фразеології у лінгвістичній науці;
– дослідити предмет вивчення фразеології;
– поділити досліджувані ФО за структурною класифікацією, запропонованою
О.В. Куніним;
– виокремити фразео-семантичні групи в англійській та українській мовах
