Federal Security Service

 

FSB centralized system of the Federal Security Service, to be exercised within their powers to work to ensure the security of the Russian Federation.  The activity of the FSB of Russia by the President of the Russian Federation.  Established in June 1995 by converting (renaming) of the Federal Counterintelligence Service Russian Federation.

• According to article 8 of the Federal law of April 3, 1995 No. 40-FZ "About federal security service",  activity of bodies of FSB is carried out in the following main directions:
• counterprospecting activity;
• fight against terrorism;
• fight against crime;
• prospecting activity;

 

Counterprospecting activity

 

Counterprospecting activity — activity of bodies of FSB of Russia within the powers on identification, the prevention, suppression of prospecting and other activity of special services and the organizations of the foreign states, and also the individuals, directed on causing damage of safety of the Russian Federation.

 

Bodies of FSB according to the legislation of the Russian Federation carry out operational search actions for identification, the prevention, suppression and disclosure of espionage, terrorist activity, organized crime, corruption, arms trafficking and drugs.

 

Investigation

 

Investigation — activity of bodies of FSB of Russia within the Russian Federation on production, delivery and processing of the security information connected with organized criminal and terrorist groups. Prospecting activity is carried out by body of external investigation of federal executive authority in the field of safety according to the Federal law of the Russian Federation "About external investigation".

 

Structure

 

Bodies of federal security service treat:

• Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation;
• Territorial security service;
• Departments of FSB of Russia in Armed forces of the Russian Federation;
• Border service of the Russian Federation;
• aviation, railway, motor transportation, divisions, centers of special preparation, division of a special purpose.

The Main Intelligence Directorate

 

The Main Intelligence Directorate (MID) —  body of external investigation of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, the central governing body of military investigation in Armed forces of the Russian Federation — Russia. Is executive body and body of military management of other military of the organizations.

 

Structure

 

The structure of Main Intelligence Directorate consists from the 12th management:

• The first Management — the countries of the European commonwealth (except Great Britain)
• The second Management — the countries of North and South America, Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand
• The third Management — the countries of Asia
• The fourth Management — the countries of Africa
• The fifth Management — management of expeditious investigation
• The sixth Management — management of radio engineering investigation
• The seventh Management — NATO
• The eighth Management — diversionary (SPN)
• The ninth Management — management of military technologies
• The tenth Management — management of military economy
• The eleventh Management — management of strategic doctrines and arms
• The twelfth Management — the nuclear weapon
• Management Twelve  — information war.

 

The structure, number and financing of GRU treat the data being the state secret.

The priority is sent to GRU to work on getting of the security information, materials and foreign examples of modern technology. With GRU in comparison with other power departments work more rigidly and purposefully.

 

 

Conclusion

 

 

To make a conclusion I want to say that FSB and GRU are competitors in the activity, but their main task is protection and preservation of safety of peace citizens of the Russian Federation.
