In English there a lot of rules to use the article with proper nouns. It is used essentially to understand some information clearly , in general, it is meant to enrich and clarify ideas and lead the interlocutors to communicate eloquently.

Conclusions……………………………………………………………………….28
The are no cases by using the indefinite article with proper nouns in " The Dressmaker " by Beryl Bainbridge.
2.3. The zero article with proper noun in the work
1. Geographical names like all the other proper nouns are used without articles[ 4; 34].
e.g. Not like America, but its nice[ 27; 44].
e.g. In vain he told her that things were going to get better, now the Allies had landed in Europe[ 27; 144].
2. Names of streets and squares are used without articles [ 6; 185].
e.g...that thundered down the hill to the coal yards behind Lime Street[ 27; 44].
3.The name of months and days[ 4; 32].
e.g. She did. On Saturday[ 27; 65].
4.The use of articles with nouns modified by proper nouns[ 25; 62].
e.g. Nelly’s aunt did agree with us[ 27; 19].
e.g. But she was Nelly’s creation[ 27; 19].
5.Nouns expressing relationship not followed by proper noun [ 4; 35].
e.g …..- he was only making time for the singing to come in the next world and her reunion with Mother[18; 19].
6.Nouns expressing relationship followed by names of articles do not take the article[ 4; 33].
e.g. What does your Aunt Nelly say? [ 27; 100]
e.g. My Auntie Margo is a great reader[ 25; 115].
7.Names of person are used without of articles[ 4; 33].
e.g. Rita could tell Auntie Margo was giddy with indignation[ 27; 56].
e.g. Nelly could see Marge’s hand with the thin band of gold encircling
her fingers, stroking the girl's bend head[ 27; 42].
8. Bed, church, college, court, prison, school, university, when we refer to the purpose for which they exist.
e.g. She had been apprenticed when she was twelve to a woman who lived next door to Emmanuel Church School[ 47; 129].
Thus, in most cases
the zero article performs the same functions as the indefinite one.
The difference is that the combinability of the latter is restricted
to the group of countable nouns used in the singular form, whereas the
zero article combines with uncountable nouns and countable nouns in
the plural. Still there are situations where the zero article is used
in its specific functions which are different from those of the indefinite
article. When used with the zero article, the noun loses its general
grammatical meaning to a certain degree and acquires the meaning of
qualitativeness. For example, the nouns “day” and “night” used
with the zero article stand for “light” and “darkness” rather
than time units.
Conclusion
Our work is done and all our tasks are achieved.
An article is a function word that is not assignable to any of the traditional grammatical word classes (such as pronouns, articles or conjunctions). The term is a catch-all term for a heterogeneous set of elements and lacks a precise universal definition. It is mostly used for words that help to encode grammatical categories (such as negation, mood or case) and are uninflected.
An article is a kind of adjective that is always used with and gives some information about a noun. There are only two articles a and the, but they are used very often and are important for using English accurately. Articles make up a very small, but powerful class of words that are placed in front of nouns .
There are two types of articles, but some scholars defined thee types of articles. There are definite, indefinite and zero articles.
Depending on its context, the meaning of the term may overlap with such notions or meanings as "morpheme", "marker", or even "adverb" (another catch-all term). Like many linguistic concepts, the precise content of the notion is very language-specific.
The correct use of the articles (a/an and the) is one of the most difficult points in English grammar. In most European languages there are rules about when to use (or not to use) indefinite and definite articles. These rules generally depend on the gender of the noun and on whether a word is singular or plural. In English, gender does not affect our choice, but whether a word is singular or plural may do so. Fortunately, however, most mistakes in the use of the articles do not matter too much. Even if we leave all the articles out of a sentence, it is usually possible to understand it.
We researched the use
of article with proper nouns in " The Dressmaker " by Beryl
Bainbridge.
