House of my dream

Everyone likes dreaming. It helps us to overcome the difficulties of our daily routine. As a rule, people imagine they have a lot of money, their own family, happy family and full social life.  
I’d like to tell you about the house of my dream. I’d like to have my house abroad. May be in America, because it’s rather warm there all year round. I want my house to be near the ocean. I don’t want to have it in town, because there is little fresh air and a lot of litter on the streets. I’m likely live there with my husband & my child. I imagine my house has 3 stories. Near the front it has a facade with columns & steps up to the front door. There’s also small balcony in my house. The windows are in the shape of arches. Through them you can see a wonderful view. There are lots of palm trees and flowers around the house. And there is nothing like walking in the shade of these trees & listening to the whisper of waves. The sun is shining, the birds are singing their sweet songs. Oh, it’s lovely to wake up in the morning in our house & see the sun shining through the window & hear the far-off plash-plash of the ocean.  
As you come through the front door, you find yourself in a large hall with an open fireplace, which is unusual. One of the doors leads to the living room. This room faces the south, so it’s very sunny & has a lovely view of the whole valley. In the middle of this room there’s a thick carpet.  
We have little furniture in this room. On the left there’s a sofa & small table near it, on the right you can see TV set & type recorder. There are some armchairs in this room. In the living room we spend our evenings chatting with each other & my child plays with a kitten.  
Then a wide staircase takes you to the second floor where there are some bedrooms. My child’s room is really vast. The wallpaper is very colorful. Also there are lots o toys for my child to play with.  
Behind the house there is a swimming pool & some plastic armchairs. Our house looks peaceful & calm, & the calmest room is my husband’s study. He’s a businessman & he likes reading. But as for me I prefer associating with my friends.  
We have many different electrical appliances in our house. They make our life more comfortable. Also we have some people to help us. They look after the house, grow vegetables in our garden & cook. So we enjoy having green & fresh food on our dinner table. Our house is beautiful place to be at any time of the year. In winter it’s warm & cosy, & in summer there is so much to do outside. 

First of all I'd like to say that all of us have our own ideas and dreams about a perfect home, because "home" can't mean the same to everybody. But I'm sure that for all people home is not just a place to live in. Home is your little world where you live according to your own rules and interests. It's a place where you feel comfort, warmth and reliability, that's why we say "East or West, home is best" and the English say "My home is my castle". In my opinion home always awakens the best feelings and high emotions in people's souls. But what an ideal home is everybody decides for himself. 
 
It goes without saying that nowadays there are a lot of types of dwellings, that's why everyone can choose a house he or she likes. For instance some people prefer semi-detached houses or duplexes (as the Americans call them). I think that such houses attract them because they are less expensive than mansions or bungalows, for example. You also have neighbours you can always turn to if you need something, but at the same time your neighbours can disturb you while repairing their part of the house or when they listen to music too loudly. But in general I'm sure that it's quite pleasant to live in a semi-detached house. 
 
Other people like cottages and farmhouses. I think that people, who prefer these types of dwelling, are fond of nature, fresh air and they want to have calm and measured rhythm of life. Usually they keep the poultry and the cattle. One of advantages living in such a house is that you have your own land where you can grow fruit and vegetables, make flowerbeds and plant various beautiful flowers there that will warm your heart, lay out an orchard, etc. You can also build some outhouses like a green-house, a garage, a tool shed, an arbour. The most important disadvantage of living in a farmhouse or in a cottage, to my mind, is that it takes a lot of time to get to the nearest town, but if you have a car it isn't a problem for you. That's why I'd like to live in a cottage after I retire.  

 
 
Now I live in a block of flats. It seems to me that it's the cheapest type of dwelling in a town. Flats can be of different sizes: one-roomed, two-roomed, three-roomed and you can choose a flat you like. If you are going to live alone, for instance, you certainly would prefer a studio to a large detached house in three stores. Besides, among advantages of living in a block o f flats some people name that it takes less time to tidy up a flat than a house. But as any type of dwelling a flat has its disadvantages: a noise that your neighbours make when they, for example, drill or hammer or when they organize a party. Sometimes you can depend on your neighbours - imagine such a situation: your neighbours' tap is dripping and they need it to be repaired, so they block water supply not only in their own flat but also in yours and you have to wait for hours till you can do the washing-up or take a shower. It isn't convenient, but in spite of it the largest part of population in our country live in blocks of flats. I personally live on a flat and I can say that all these disadvantages don't bother me a lot, and in general it's a nice type of dwelling. 
 
But frankly speaking my dream is to live in a detached house. Why? First of all your neighbours can never disturb you, for instance by hammering a nail into the wall. But at the same time if you want to ask your neighbours for something or just have a talk you can visit them. As you have some land around the house you can build outhouses; and if I had a detached house I would build a garage, a summer house, maybe a padding pool and certainly I would arrange some flowerbeds as I have a green thumb. I hope that one day I will have such a house. 
 
I imagine the house of my dream in such a way: it's a two-storied but not a large brick house with a red gable roof, fenced by a hedge. A narrow path leads to front steps by the both sides of which there are small nice flowerbeds. When you come in through the front door you find yourself in a spacious hall with a wide staircase, on one side of which there are potted plants. I'd like to have four or five rooms, but frankly speaking I can't imagine then clearly now. I only want to add that I want my bedroom to be the lightest room in my house owing to a French window and it should have a small open balcony. On the contrary, the sitting-room should be the darkest room in the house. Here I want to have a fireplace near which I can spend long winter evenings sitting in a rocker and listening to pleasant music or sipping coffee.  

 
 
It goes without saying that it's almost impossible to find an appropriate sum of money to buy such a house at once. But there is always a way out: you can turn to a building society for a mortgage. Mortgage is a long-term loan that a building society gives you for a certain period of time. Building societies make their money by borrowing money from some members of the public - their "depositors" - and lending it to others. A lot of people have building society savings accounts. They save their money with a building society, which pays them interest. The society then lends this money to people who want to buy a house or a flat and charges them a higher interest rate on the amount borrowed. 
 
When you turn to a building society, they ask you a number of questions such as: 
" What type of jobs do you have? 
" How much do you earn? 
" What are your monthly expenses? 
The society also inspects the house you want to buy to see if it's worth the money they are being asked to lend. And in case all being well, it will offer to lend you up to about 90 per cent of the price of the house, to be paid back with interest over 25 years, or sometimes less. 
 
The only disadvantage of buying a house in such a way is that you overpay for your house, but it seems to me not so important, as you get your own house at once and you can do everything you want there: repaper the walls, make moulded ceilings or parquet the floor, you needn't ask for permission of a landlord. And as you are paying the original price of the house in fairly small sums once a month you are able to afford it. 
 
And at the end of my story I'd like to say that all of us imagine our ideal houses in different ways; so everything depends on your taste and preferences.

ame is Almira. I live in Almetyevsk. I have got a two-room apartment in the center of the city. But all people dream about their own house with all conditions, so do I.

The house of my dream must be a comfortable well-planned two-storeyed cottage. Not so large of course. It should be situated in a quite ecologically clean place or street. In front of the house I want a green lawn and flowers to be. And also a big shaggy dog should live in his booth in our yard. There must be a large kitchen, a pantry, a dining-room, a cosy sitting-room with a fireplace and big windows on the ground floor.

There should be bedrooms with with the own separated bathrooms on the first floor, and somebody`s study upstairs. And my room should be in the garret. And a balcony also should be.

Also I want to have a modern and quite new furniture. But the main thing that I do not want to do is to pay a lot of money for the house and the furniture for many years before I can call this house my own.

There should be a lot of trees, a pond or a fountain. It is necessary if my house be strong and well-defended with a beautiful fence.

It is situated in a peaceful place so that when you are on the top of one of the towers of my palace you can see a picturesque view. My palace is painted white and it is made of brick. There is a wonderful orchard with fruit trees, lawns and flower-beds where there are a lot of flowers such as gerberas, forget-me-nots, tulips, lilies, roses and phloxes. The palace is surrounded with a hedge. At the entrance of my palace there is a front porch with a long staircase so that you could feel a VIP-person when you go upstairs. My palace has sixty rooms that’s why I can live there with all my family and invite all my friends, groupmates and former classmates. Every room has its own design.

  Each of them is unusual and different from the other rooms. Almost all the rooms are lighted well enough except some pantries and utility-rooms. Of course, the rooms of my palace aren’t crammed up with furniture because there is enough room for it. My palace is sixteen-storeyed so it has a lift. My house has all modern conveniences. It is stuffed with all electronic equipment. All is managed by electronics. It goes without saying that there is an interior central heating, running water and gas. By the way, my palace has a swimming-pool, a Jacuzzi, billiards, a training hall, a beauty shop, a cinema and an amusement park. I would like to tell you about one of my favourite rooms of the palace. It is my own big library. Can you imagine there are thousands of books here. When you come into the room you are deep in the atmosphere of peace and pacification. This room consists of two floors. There is a ladder to reach the first floor with books. In the middle of the room there is upholstered furniture: a sofa, two armchairs and a coffee-table. There is always a bowl with fruit, nuts and chocolate on the coffee-table. The floor is parquet and the walls are painted light-pastel. No doubt there are standard-lamps, table lamps, wall-brackets to read in a comfortable way. Threr is a Persian carpet on the floor and heavy curtains on the windows. It is hard to describe the whole palace. It’s a magnificent place. How I wish tha my dream would come true. I agree with Bella Davis’ words: “Don’t be afraid of the space between your dreams and reality. If you can dream of it, you can make it so.”

   Dreams are very useful because they help to define (1) your aims and wishes. I like to dream and I often imagine (2) my future home. I'd like to live in a detached house in one of the suburbs of our city. I hope that there will be a forest and a lake near my house. A beautiful orchard with apple and cherry trees will surround my place. Let's imagine that we open the gate and come close to a neat two-storey building. Welcome inside! 
   The ground floor consists of the kitchen, the living room and the study. The kitchen is cosy with all modern conveniences. We have running cold and hot water, a fridge, gas and microwave cookers, a dishwasher. These appliances (3) help to save our time. The kitchen is done in folk style and there are many traditional Russian pots and souvenirs. It's nice when our family gets together in the evenings and shares the news. 
   The living room is spacious (4) with big windows. I don't want to have much furniture in it, just a sofa, a low table and .chairs. I like when my friends visit us and we have a big dining table with chairs and a cupboard with porcelain, necessary utensils (5), table clothes, napkins (6), etc. 
   The study is the place where I work. To my mind there should be a desk, a chair, many bookcases with books, a computer with all other necessary appliances like printer, etc. 
   On the first floor there are two bedrooms. One bedroom is for adults. There we have a wardrobe, a bed and two night-tables. The colours of the walls are not bright. Everything promises you a restful sleep. 
   The bedroom of my children will be light with many toys and sports equipment. Children are very active and they must have much of exercise. 
   This is my dream and I haven't imagined all the details rather clearly. By the time this dream comes true everything will be planned. I invite you to visit the house of my dream.

   На первом этаже расположена кухня, гостиная и кабинет. Уютная кухня, со всеми современными удобствами. В кухне - горячая и холодная вода, холодильник, газовая плита и микроволновая печь, посудомоечная машина. Эти устройства позволяют сэкономить время. Кухня оформлена в фольклорном стиле со многими традиционными русскими гончарными изделиями и сувенирами. Приятно, когда по вечерам вся семья собирается вместе и делится новостями. 
   Просторная гостиная, с большими окнами. Там не будет много мебели, только диван, журнальный столик и кресло. Мне нравится, когда наши друзья посещают нас. У нас будет большой обеденный стол с креслами, буфет с фарфором, необходимой посудой, скатертями, салфетками и т.д. 
   Кабинет - это место для работы. По моему мнению, там должен быть письменный стол, стул, много книжных шкафов с книгами, компьютер со всем необходимым оборудованием, как вот принтер и т. д. 
   На втором этаже расположены две спальные комнаты. Одна - для взрослых. Там есть шкаф для одежды, кровать, две тумбочки. Цвет стен неяркий. Все настраивает на спокойный сон. 
   Спальня моих детей будет светлой, со многими игрушками и спортивным уголком. Дети очень активные и должны заниматься спортом. 
   Это только моя мечта, и я еще не очень четко представляю себе все детали. Но пока эта мечта осуществится, все будет спланировано. Я приглашаю вас посетить дом моей мечты. 
Every person has his own idea of a perfect house.

Since the time immemorial people always wanted to make their dwelling a place, where one feels comfortable and cosy, where one always wants to come back to.

A dwelling of my dream is not a flat but a two-storeyed mansion. And as a real hostess I’d like to arrange everything in the house according to my taste. Now, let me tell you about my house. When you come to me, you push a big wooden front door, wiping your feet on the door-mat, and enter the hall. The floor is covered with a fitted carpet, the wallpaper is light and has a small pattern. There’s a seat and a small table near the wall and a huge mirror above it.

Then you enter the living-room. The bright full-length curtains are drawn back, and sunshine fills the room. The living-room suite, consisting of a sideboard, a bookcase, a sofa, an elegant coffee table and three armchairs, is arranged around three walls. There’s a video system near the window.

On the ground floor there’s also a kitchen and a bathroom. The kitchen is a very large room with a big window. There is a gas cooker with a hood, two wall-cupboards and a sink unit there. Near the opposite wall there is a dishwasher, a refrigerator and a table.

Let’s go upstairs and have a look at the bedroom. This is a very cosy and warm room. The bedroom suite consists of a bed, two bedside tables and a wardrobe. The window overlooks the back yard. In my house there is also a terrace, a garage and a garden and so many other things I’d like to have; at least, in my dream house.

С незапамятных времен люди всегда хотели сделать свое жилище местом, где чувствуешь себя комфортно и уютно, куда всегда хочется вернуться.  
 
Жилище моей мечты- не квартира, а двухэтажный особняк. И как настоящая хозяйка я хотела бы устроить все в доме по своему вкусу. Теперь позвольте мне рассказать вам о моем доме. Когда вы приходите ко мне, вы открываете большую деревянную дверь, вытирая ноги о коврик и входите в хол. Пол покрыт ковровым покрытием, обои светлые в небольшой рисунок. У стены- кресло и столик  и огромное зеркало над ним.  
 
Затем вы входите в комнату. Яркие длинные шторы взяты назад, и солнечный свет наполняет комнату. Мебельный гарнитур, состоящий из буфета, шкафа, дивана, элегантного журнального столика и трёх кресел, расположен вокруг трех стен. Видео-система- у окна.  
 
На первом этаже есть также кухня и ванная комната. Кухня очень большая комната с большим окном. Там есть газовая плита с вытяжкой, два навесных шкафа и мойка. У противоположной стены есть посудомоечная машина, холодильник и стол.  
 
Давайте поднимемся наверх и посмотрим на спальню. Это очень уютная и теплая комната. Спальный гарнитур состоит из кровати, двух тумбочек и шкафа. Окно выходит на задний двор. В моем доме есть терраса, гараж и сад, и так много других вещей, которые  я хотела бы иметь, по крайней мере, в моих мечтах.
