Визначення поняття «текст»

The paper deals with the definition of terms “discourse” and “text”. The differences and similarities of the essence of the given terms are overviewed. Short characteristics of the basis of the interpretation of the notions “discourse” and “text” from the point of view of the structural semantic categories is given. The possible way to generalize and differentiate these notions is being revised.
What is Discourse? The expression discourse is being used in a number of different ways and there happens to be disagreement on its use. But at least we can say that it needs to be distinguished from the expression text. Here are two attempts to define discourse:
